Types of wooden floor mouldings and trims
While there many different types of floor mouldings and trims, some of the most common are listed below.
Skirting boards are fitted to the perimeter of the room to hide any expansion gaps.
Beading is generally installed between flooring and skirting boards and is often used when new floor is being laid without replacing existing skirting boards.
Architrave is generally thinner than skirting boards and is typically used around door frames and windows.
Thresholds are used in doorways, particularly between rooms with different flooring.
Nosing is used where a wooden floor meets the edge of the stairs.
